iam

information as material was established in York in 2002 to publish work by artists who use extant material: who select and reframe such material to generate new meanings; and who, in doing so, disrupt the existing order of things. iam's catalogue includes books, prints, documentary film and audio works, and its imprint activities involve exhibitions, online projects and lectures. Three new publications and a second documentary film will be released this year, with more projects planned for the future. iam's publications are edited by Simon Morris and Nick Thurston, and distributed internationally by Cornerhouse (UK) and SPD (USA).
