Chloe Trayner is a film and events programmer with a focus on talent development and non-fiction programming. She is currently the Associate Director of Open City Documentary Festival as well as programming for the BFI Future Film Festival and co-directing the Overnight Film Festival. She has previously worked with organisations such as Bertha DocHouse, UnderWire Festival, Wellcome Trust and BFI National Archive.

Playback: Resident Advisor Live Pitch

If tickets are sold out, you are encouraged to join the returns queue at the ICA Box Office on the day of the event. For free events there is a high chance you will gain entry, though we cannot guarantee a place. Fifteen minutes after Playback events begin, unclaimed tickets are distributed to waitlist customers and visitors present in the ICA foyer
How do you express your film idea in five minutes? What do commissioners want? How can electronic music be best represented on screen?
Hosted by Martha Pazienti Caida (Radar Radio, Resident Advisor), five selected finalists pitch to a live judging panel to win a £4,000 commission to make an electronic music documentary with the Resident Advisor Films team.
This competition is now closed and five finalists have been selected. Following the pitch they receive feedback from our panel of industry professionals including Chloe Trayner (Open City Documentary Festival/BFI), Patrick Nation (Resident Advisor) and Eloise King (Vice/i-D), with the winner announced later in the evening during the Resident Advisor/Playback Party.

Patrick Nation
Patrick Nation is Head of Films at Resident Advisor. The films team at RA produces a range of different series and one-off videos on electronic music including documentaries, live performances and video essays. He previously worked in television producing documentaries for Channel 4, the BBC and ITV.

Eloise King
Eloise King is a digital programming executive for Vice UK and a global executive producer for i-D. Across Vice's multi-award winning content business, King has been instrumental in the production and programming strategy of cross-platform documentaries and factual series, including feature length reports (Acid Attacks, Raised Without Gender and Targeted Individuals), i-D films (Grace Neutral Beauty, Global Street Style Ukraine and JME x Jeremy Corbyn) and Viceland TV series Needles & Pins.
Throughout her career, King's work as both producer and director has been focused on telling powerful human interest stories from the perspective of marginalised voices, most notably in Kids Behind Bars (ITV/BBC3), The Divorce Clinic (BBC2) and Gurls Talk (i-D). As co-founder of Women on Docs, she also curates monthly screenings and panel events celebrating the contribution of women to documentary film.
Prior to Vice, King's documentary production credits have ranged across several international territories including MTV, Channel 4, E4, BBC, BBC New York, ITV, The Fine Living Channel US and Al Jazeera English. King started her career with Pulse Films before working under the guidance of filmmaker Paul Hamann.
