“A unique opportunity to connect with leaders in the industry under one roof and gain some insight into the sector” Aesthetica Short Film Festival

Playback Festival was a five day event aimed at emerging artists and filmmakers which took place at ICA in March 2017 and March 2018. A free interactive exhibition of films made by artists aged 16-24 was on display alongside a public programme of filmmaking workshops, guest talks and events, opening up the world of filmmaking to emerging artists and new audiences.

Playback Festival 2018 featured 25 free events from masterclasses on cinematography and foley, talks on being a millennial creative and financing your next film, as well as a spoken word event with Hollie McNish and parties featuring NTS and Resident Advisor DJs. Playback Festival 2017 featured guest talks from BORN n BREAD Blinkink and Channel 4, alongside workshops on scriptwriting from Kate Leys, how to pitch and how to get your talent spotted.
