The first issue of NOIT Journal explores the concept of flat-time, the concept devised by the late artist John Latham in a format that mirrors the way he himself developed and spread his various insights into the working processes of art production, through personal recollections of encounters with Latham. Published by Flat Time House, his former residence turned art institute, the journal continues Lathams method of opening his doors to all conversations and interested parties. Inviting the likes of Patrick Keiller, Hans Ulrich Obrist, John Stezaker, David Toop, Lucy Lippard, Jane Rolo and others to talk about Lathams influence and ideas seems a fitting way to continue his legacy.

Pages is the best farsi-english language journal we stock by a mile. Though semi-suspicious of ‘themed issues’ Pages pick themes outside of the normal ‘romance issue’ or ‘food issue’ nonsense. This issues theme is Seep, the seep of ink into pages, the seep of oil into everyday Iranian life, the seep of the above ground into the underground, etc. With essays from the likes of Eugene Thacker, Nina Parzham and Mariam Motamedi Fraser as well as artists contributions from Mark von Schlegell, Alexi Kukuljevic and Suzanne Treister, Pages continues it’s status as an always surprising imtellectual marvel i.e it is very good.
