Still: Who's Camus Anyway?

Who's Camus Anyway? (Kamyu Nante Shiranai)

6 Feb 2009

In May 2000, almost 60 years after Albert Camus' The Outsider depicted a seemingly motiveless murder, an old woman was stabbed to death in Aichi, Japan. The killer, a school boy, said, "I wanted to experience a murder. I wanted to experiment and see what happens if I kill a person." This drama portrays a group of college students who, making a film based on the incident, find themselves struggling with issues of empathy and facing a number of their own ethical and metaphysical issues.

Dir Mitsuo Yanagimachi, Japan 2005, 115 mins, subtitles
