Far from glamorous and more melodramatic than most fiction films, this documentary reveals the harsh realities of the modelling industry for a group of Viennese friends working within a culture of over-indulgence, addiction and exploitation. While the on-screen behaviour is certainly extreme, Seidl posits their quest for love and beauty and their delusional, destructive patterns as symptomatic of wider contemporary experience.
