ICA Off-Site: Korakrit Arunanondchai with boychild and AJGvojic: The Last 3 Years and the Future

Korakrit Arunanondchai presents four videos accompanied by a live performance in collaboration with performance artist boychild, with lighting and environmental design by AJGvojic.

Bangkok-born New York-based artist Korakrit Arunanondchai’s work explores history, authenticity, self-representation and tourism.

  • 2012-2555, 2012
    Video and performance
    Created in collaboration with Jaki Doyka, Jason Bartell and Dj Nire, 2012-2555 documents a period of one year of the artist's life in relationship to his grandparents.
  • 2556, 2013
    Video and performance
    Created in collaboration with Jesus Benavente, Park McArthur and Sarah Workneh, 2556 documents a period of nine weeks that Korakrit spent at a summer residency in Skowhegan, Maine.
  • Painting with history in a room filled with men with funny names 2 (2557)(Part 1), 2013
    Video and performance
    Created in collaboration with Korapat Arunanondchai and Harry Bornstein, this work documents a summer road trip the artist took with his twin Korapat in Thailand. "2557" (Painting with history in a room filled with men with funny names 2) (Part 2) is on view at Carlos/Ishikawa gallery.
  • The Future, 2014
    Video and performance
    Created in collaboration with boychild. This work is a part of Letters to Chantri, an ongoing feature film started in the summer of 2014.

An example of Korakrit Arunanondchai’s denim paintings is featured in the group show Beware Wet Paint (ICA 24 Sep- 6 Nov 2014, and La Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, 29 Oct 2014-1 Feb 2015).

Unfortunately, your ticket does not guarantee entry: as all ICA Offsite events are free, people often request more than they actually require, and to allow for this the ICA must issue more tickets than there are available

We do carefully consider how many extra tickets to issue for each show, but nevertheless we recommend that you arrive in good time to be sure that you are not disappointed. If you have a ticket that you no longer need, please do let us know and we can return it for further use. There will be a limited number of tickets for each event available on the door half an hour before the start of the event. The tickets available at the door are limited and therefore entry is not guaranteed

Entry to the event is on a first-come, first-served basis and some queuing may be required
