Following the screening there is a Q&A with Alfons Kułakowski, one of the brothers in the film, hosted by Sight & Sound contributor Michael Brooke.
An intimate portrait of two brothers returning home. After 80 years of exile two brothers come back to Poland from Kazakhstan. Their aim is to find their place in this new world. They face obstacles of character differences and disputes. One brother is a painter and a dreamer, the other a pragmatic engineer. They attempt to rebuild their lives in spite of the dramatic events that befall them when their house burns down and one brother checks the other in to a care home for the elderly. The race against time begins now. Will they be fast enough?
