Culture Now: Shannon Ebner in Conversation with Stuart Comer

18 Oct 2013

Join us for a lunchtime talk with artist Shannon Ebner and Stuart Comer, to coincide with Ebner's solo exhibition at Sadie Coles HQ, The Electric Coma.

Shannon Ebner (b. 1971, New Jersey) lives and works in Los Angeles. Encompassing photography, sculpture and video, Ebner's work mines the shifting nature of language, graphic signs and visual systems - exploring the breaches between text and image, the photographic and graphic, and reading and looking.

Her exhibition The Electric Comma runs at Sadie Coles HQ, 69 South Audley Street, from 05 September to 02 November. Black Box Collision A, a parallel project to The Electric Comma, is simultaneously on view at 9 Balfour Mews.

Shannon Ebner was born in New Jersey in 1971 and lives and works in Los Angeles. She holds a BA from Bard College and an MFA from Yale University School of Art. Ebner's work has been exhibited widely in many international exhibitions and is included in the collections of many prestigious institutions including Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
