Curator and writer Anthony Huberman is in conversation with Katharine Stout, ICA Head of Programme, to discuss the 8th Liverpool Biennial exhibition A Needle Walks into a Haystack, co-curated by Mai Abu ElDahab and Anthony Huberman.

Taking place across the city at venues including FACT and Tate Liverpool, this exhibition presents artists who draw upon and reconfigure the objects, images, relationships and activities that constitute their immediate surroundings. Whilst addressing larger questions facing contemporary life and art, the artists presented in this exhibition work on a scale that is intimate, tangible and within everyday reach.

Anthony Huberman is the Director of CCA Wattis Institute in San Francisco and the Founding Director of The Artist’s Institute in New York. Previously, he worked as chief curator of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, curator of the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, and curator of SculptureCenter, New York, and has organised a wide variety of independent projects around the world.
