Executive Director Gregor Muir on his highlights from this week's events at the ICA.
Dear All,
Our cinema programme this week includes a presentation on Friday 19 April by Cigarette Burns Cinema and FAB Press - Let's Scare Jessica to Death, a shining example of the creeping dread which infused the finest cult horror films of the 70s. Other films on offer are The Gatekeepers, a documentary on Israel’s secret service Shin Bet, and F*ck For Forest, a humorous film on the Norwegian environmental group that is devoted to saving the rainforests by somewhat unconventional means.
At Culture Now on Friday 19 April we have Hanaa Mallalah in Conversation with Mo Throp. Iraqi artist Mallalah discusses her recent exhibition that was based on the invasion of Iraq - Ten Years After: Reflections, with Dr Mo Throp who is an artist, curator, writer and Associate Researcher with the Graduate School at Chelsea, Camberwell & Wimbledon Schools of Art.
Our Artists' Film Club on Saturday 20 April is a screening of films by Mona Vatamanu & Florin Tudor that explore political and historical legacies, primarily those of Eastern Europe.
In our galleries and the Fox Reading Room we continue to show Bernadette Corporation: 2000 Wasted Years and The Independent Group: Parallel of Art & Life, whilst Frank Benson’s Flag (Union Jack) is on view from the ICA's Mall entrance. And here’s Larry Bell in conversation with Tim Marlow if you missed the Quickfire last week.
I look forward to seeing you at the ICA soon.
Best wishes,
Gregor Muir
Executive Director
