This Week at the ICA
ICA Executive Director Gregor Muir takes a look at the week ahead.

We open two great exhibitions this week - Bernadette Corporation: 2000 Wasted Years and in the Fox Reading Room, The Independent Group: Parallel of Art & Life.
Among films at the ICA this week, on Thursday 28 March we have A Nos Amours: A Moment of Innocence + The Chorus, a screening of two iconic films by Iranian directors Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Abbas Kiarostami respectively. And we also continue to screen Post Tenebras Lux by maverick writer-director Carlos Reygadas, and We Went to War by filmmakers Michael Grigsby & Rebekah Tolley.
This coming weekend 29 – 30 March sees the ICA play host to Smithsfest, a two day festival comprising talks, performance, art and film surveying the artistic and cultural impact of The Smiths. Highlights include Terry Christian’s solo show Naked Confessions of A Recovering Catholic; a double-bill of A Taste of Honey and The Leather Boys which were a huge influence on The Smiths; Morrissey: Saint or Sinner? a talk by author of Saint Morrissey Mark Simpson and Smithsfest curator Amy Lamé; and The Enduring Cultural Significance of the Smiths, a talk hosted by former NME editor Danny Kelly.
And if you missed Massimiliano Gioni, director of the 55th Venice Biennale introducing the curatorial framework of this year’s international exhibition: 'The Encyclopedic Palace', you can now view his conversation with Ute Meta Bauer, Dean of Fine Arts at the Royal College of Art online. Other recent uploads include a film of artist Frank Benson introducing his work Flag (Union Jack) (2013) that is currently installed on the roof of the ICA's podium on the Mall.
