On the occasion of the London premier of All Divided Selves (2011), ICA Artist in Residence Luke Fowler, and Adrian Laing, biographer and son of R.D. Laing engaged in a conversation on the topics raised in Fowler's film.
Following his celebrated works What You See Is Where You're At (2001) and Bogman Palmjaguar (2007), All Divided Selves is the third of Fowler's works to take up the legacy of radical psychiatrist R.D. Laing.
Luke Fowler is the first of a series of Artists in Residence, where creative practitioners are invited to engage with the ICA's illustrious history. He has contributed a work to our current exhibition and online sound art project SOUNDWORKS, in collaboration with Richard Youngs. In addition, we are showcasing more of his film work here in July, including his trilogy A Grammar for Listening Part 1, 2 and 3 and Pilgrimage from Scattered Points.
Fowler has been nominated for the Turner Prize 2012.
