Cybernetic Serendipity: Gustav Metzger in conversation with Nick Lambert

The artist-activist talks about his role in the seminal 1968 exhibition, and the reverberations of its legacy.

Gustav Metzger's Five Screens with Computer was published in the original Cybernetic Serendipity catalogue in 1968. As a key post-war artist, ICA invited him to be in conversation about the impact of the exhibition with Dr Nick Lambert, Birkbeck University.

This interview was commissioned as part of Cybernetic Serendipity: A Documentation, a display of documents, installation photographs, press reviews, invitation cards and publications celebrating this landmark exhibition curated by Jasia Reichardt in 1968.
