Part of the Screening Conditions 'Eros and Thanatos' series, which examines the cinematic portrayal of love and death from a psychoanalytic perspective. This event provides the screening and discussion of Luchino Visconti's provocative drama, adapted from James M Cain's novel, The Postman Always Rings Twice from 1943. A young drifter falls for a married woman and they plot to murder her husband.
The film will be introduced by psychoanalyst Andrea Sabbadini and followed by a discussion with guest speaker Professor Peter Evans.
