Giles Bruce on Bjarne Melgaard - Thurs 27 Sept 6.30pm

Giles Bruce is an architect specialising in environmental performance. As director of A_ZERO, an interdisciplinary architecture practice and environmental consultancy, his main interest is how environmental performance can be a driver for architectural form, materiality, and expression. He has worked as environmental consultant with many award winning architects including Snøhetta, Fosters, O’Donnell + Tuomey, and Grafton on a wide range of national and international projects. Giles studied architecture in Ireland and Norway, and now teaches Environmental Design in the Architectural Association in London.

Carole Reeves on Bjarne Melgaard - Thurs 18 Oct 6.30pm

Dr Carole Reeves is a medical historian at University College London, runs an undergraduate degree in History of Medicine for medical students, and teaches the history of psychiatry. She is actively involved in public engagement. Her projects include Secrets of the Body, a film which has toured public venues in the UK and is used in schools and colleges throughout North America. She also produced a history of medicine for HistoryWorld, which won the New Statesman New Media Award (2003) for the UK's best educational web site; and The Children of Craig-y-nos, a community oral history project that recorded the memories of people who were child patients in a tuberculosis sanatorium; shortlisted for the Medical Journalists’ Association Open Book Award (2010).

Isobel Harbison on Hannah Sawtell - Thurs 1 Nov 6.30pm

Isobel Harbison is a London-based curator and writer. She contributes to magazines including Frieze, ArtReview, Modern Painters, Kaleidoscope and Tate Etc, and has recently written essays on the work of Simon Martin (Camden Arts Centre), Mick Peter (Collective Gallery, Edinburgh), Maria Loboda (Sternberg Press) and Inci Eviner (Galerie Nev, Istanbul). From 2008 – 2010 she was Exhibitions Organiser of Hayward Touring, organising the British Art Show 7. She recently curated entrance, entrance at Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin and will curate a solo exhibition with Ed Atkins there in early 2013. Harbison is currently AHRC doctoral research scholar in the Department of Art, Goldsmiths, London.

Fiona Powell on Trojan - Thurs 15 Nov 6.30pm

Fiona Powell began writing for The Face aged 19 in 1982 where she became known for her irreverent interviews with leading pop stars, actors and artists of the day. As part of the avant garde underground club scene, she befriended Trojan and Leigh Bowery after meeting them in Heaven in 1983. Wowed by their unique self-made look and cutting edge style, she soon became a close friend and also became the first journalist to write about them in the UK for Time Out, The Face and i-D, as well as introducing them to America via Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine. During the period she was in the pop group ABC. Most recently, she has been researching the sex industry and is currently writing a book about the vice trade.
