★★★★ 'One of the best debut features of recent times...' Little White Lies
★★★★ 'A striking, laudably unshowy debut... [Sotomayor's] restrained approach to performances, alongside her fine understanding of the impact of figures in a landscape, suggest a talent to watch.' Time Out

Told through the eyes of 10 year old Lucia, Thursday Till Sunday is a road-movie and coming of age tale portraying a family on the brink of separation.

Ana and Fernando have promised to take their two children Lucia and Manuel to the beaches of northern Chile. In the back of the car, time is whiled away in playful naivety as they eagerly anticipate the promised beach. But tensions surface in the front; Fernando is preoccupied with his own venture to visit the land left to him by his father, whilst Ana is searching for somewhere of her own where their issues can dissolve. The forced intimacy of the car's interior set against the vast and arid Chilean landscapes reiterates and magnifies the claustrophobic isolation within this poignant tale of innocence and loss.
