20 Jul 201222 Jul 2012

This strange, utterly unique hybrid of travelogue documentary with Art Film follows celebrated artist filmmaker Andrew Kötting (IVUL) on a quest with friend and iconic writer/psycho-geographer Iain Sinclair to pedal a vast Swan-shaped pedalo from Hastings to Hackney. Funny, elegiac and surreal in equal measure, the film chronicles the odd details of their journey, ranging from their various hardships launching and keeping the vessel afloat, to their encounters with random passers-by and friends along the way, including comedian Stewart Lee, visionary comic book artist Alan Moore, Neuroscientist Dr Mark Lythgoe and artist Farquhar.

Dir. Andrew Kötting, UK, 2012. 94 mins, cert 12A.
