Susan Sontag Tribute

Susan Sontag Tribute

10 May 2007

'The theme that runs through Susan Sontag's writing,' said her friend Leon Wieseltier, 'is this lifelong struggle to arrive at the proper balance between the moral and the aesthetic.' To mark the publication of At the Same Time: Essays and Addresses, colleagues and friends commemorate the life and work of the acclaimed novelist, essayist, film director and human rights activist.

Speakers include Fiona Shaw, actress, John Gray, Professor of European Thought at the LSE and author of Straw Dogs and Black Mass, Ed Vulliamy, journalist on The Guardian and author of Seasons in Hell: Understanding Bosnia's War and Brian Morton, writer and broadcaster.
