What is female rivalry, where does it come from? The internationally acclaimed cultural historian and gender expert Shere Hite comes to the ICA to lecture on women's relationships with other women. Is there a hidden taboo that surrounds the matter of loyalty and disloyalty among women, one that might have its origins in the mother-daughter relationship? After a short talk, Shere Hite will be in conversation with Terri Apter, senior tutor at Newnham College, Cambridge, and author of The Sister Knot and You Don't Really Know Me.
Shere Hite will be signing copies of her books in the ICA Bookshop after the talk. Terri Apter's books will also be on sale.
