8 Jul 2011 – 15 Jul 2011
Shubbak: A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture is a showcase and celebration of the very best of contemporary culture from across the Arab world.
Organised by the Mayor’s Office of the Greater London Authority, the festival runs throughout July 2011 across a number of venues and includes all aspects of Arab culture: from architecture, dance, design and film to literature, poetry, music and the visual arts.
The ICA is pleased to be working with Mathaf and LIFT to present a dynamic programme of film, performance, talks and workshops offering a platform for artists, activists and academics as part of Shubbak.
Shubbak is a first-ever event - the first time so many different aspects of contemporary Arab culture will have been celebrated in one London festival.
