Artists' Film Biennial 2014

3 Jul 20146 Jul 2014

The Artists' Film Biennial is a four day celebration of artist film and moving image, consisting of screenings, new performance commissions, talks and panel discussions. Encompassing a wide-ranging and diverse perspective on contemporary moving image practice, it extends the ongoing Artists’ Film Club programme of screenings and guest Q&As.

This year’s programme features a multi-part retrospective of Christian Jankowski’s work, artist curated programmes by Ken Okiishi, Nina Kӧnnemann and Hannah Sawtell, curated programmes by Vivian Ziherl, Sebastian Cichocki and Vdrome, a programme selected from a curatorial open call, a talks programme in partnership with FLAMIN (Film London Artists' Moving Image Network), a symposium entitled Aesthetics of the Non-visible in partnership with Birkbeck, and an associated screening of Matthew Noel-Tod and Benedict Seymore's Can Dialectics Break Gravity?. There's also a free panel discussion on Curating Artists' Film with The Art Fund, and Seminar Groups for Artists and Curators.

The Artists' Film Biennial is the only one of its kind in the UK to focus on artists' film.

Yto Barrada's curated programme will now take place later in the year
