It's that time of year again: the KINOTEKA Polish Film Festival returns for its 16th year to bring you what's new in Polish film and culture, as well as some lesser-known archival gems ripe for rediscovery. While introducing New Polish Cinema, this year's edition also revolves around celebrating one hundred years of Polish independence.

The ICA hosts two masterclasses with two of Poland's most prolific and inventive creatives: Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Klimowski. Screening one of Zanussi's earliest films, The Structure of Crystal (1969) on 17 March, followed by a conversation with the multi-award winning director, this is a rare chance to see his first feature, for which he won the promising Best First Work prize at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. It tells a story of two friends, Jan and Marek, who reunite at Jan's house in the countryside. Together with Jan's wife, they spend increasingly more time in each other's company, subtly testing the limits of what's appropriate.

Audiences fascinated by Polish film poster design are in for an eye-opening visual treat with Commissioned: The Art of the Polish Film Poster on 24 March, a documentary which provides an in-depth look at the posters of Andrzej Klimowski, one of the most acclaimed Polish poster artists. The screening is part of a day-long focus on the art of the cinema poster, including a one-off workshop with Klimowski himself aimed at new and emerging filmmakers looking to create poster artwork for their latest project.

The ICA also gives home to rising stars of New Polish Cinema. KINOTEKA audiences can enjoy Rafael Kapeliński's thrilling first feature Butterfly Kisses on 13 March, a black and white coming-of-age story focused on the lives of three teenagers living in a housing estate in London (followed by a Q&A with the director) and Beyond Words on 20 March - Urszula Antoniak's newest drama nominated for Best Film at Camerimage and the Polish Film Festival.

Take advantage of this special multibuy offer for KINOTEKA: if you purchase tickets for 2 or 3 screenings, pay a discounted rate of £9 (full price)/£7 (concessions)/£6 (ICA Members) per ticket, and if you purchase a ticket for all four KINOTEKA events, pay only £8/£6/£5 per ticket
