Preview Screening: Spaceship + Q&A

17 May 2017

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Alex Taylor hosted by London Short Film Festival artistic director Philip Ilson.

Lucidia is a teenage cyber-goth whose mother died mysteriously seven years ago in the family swimming pool. Her father Gabriel is an archaeologist who can’t move on. When Lucidia suddenly disappears in an apparent alien abduction, Gabriel is forced to confront her strange outsider friends and meets Tegan, a girl obsessed with unicorns and black holes.

Told from multiple points of view, the film navigates a kaleidoscopic journey through a constellation of characters who are pulled together by teenage gravity, surrounded by adults who also feel the same irresistible pull as they orbit their own elusive identities, all looking for a universe to call their own.

Playing before the film will be short film Kids Might Fly (dir. Alex Taylor, UK 2011, 6 mins). This multi-award-winning short follows a young homeless girl taken into care. Set in an urban wilderness it is an offbeat and touching experimental drama about East London kids.
