Join director Grant Gee for a Q&A on Friday 27 January

This film essay explores the work and influence of German writer WG Sebald (1944-2001), shadowing the writer's footsteps through East Anglia for his most famous book The Rings of Saturn.

This is a stunning multi-layered exploration of landscape, art, history, life and loss, made by the acclaimed documentary filmmaker Grant Gee, best known for his Grammy nominated and Grierson Award winning music documentaries including Joy Division (about the band), Meeting People Is Easy (on Radiohead) and Demon Days (on Gorillaz).

Sebald has profoundly influenced some of today's leading writers, thinkers and artists, many of whom take part in the film including Adam Philips, Robert Macfarlane, Andrew Motion, Rick Moody and Tacita Dean.
