Pasolini: Poetry & Politics: Pigsty

Porcile (Pigsty) is a film composed from two separate stories, one interwoven against the other. The first episode tells the story of a middle-class family headed by a German fascist father whose son is devoured by the pigs he was used to sleeping with. The second story is about a young, hungry man wandering on a volcanic wasteland where he will eventually become cannibalistic. Porcile has been widely recognized as the film through which Pasolini deployed a fierce and detailed politico-philosophical statement through the moving image.
