Pasolini: Poetry & Politics: Accattone

Accattone (played by regular-to-be, Franco Citti) is a layabout-pimp from the Roman underclass who lives off a prostitute until she ends up in jail. It’s a story set among the society’s sub-proletariat, where good and bad, honest and dishonest, it is always one. The first and perhaps the best of Pasolini films, where the filmmaker transferred the ethical, formal and political tension of his novels into a film for the very first time.
