ORGANISED YOUTH: Influencing People

25 May 2016

How does youth-centred, peer-led programming influence institutional practices? What are the benefits and challenges of self-organisation? How do we measure the impacts of an open exchange between young people and the institution? Designed for educators and artists to explore the possibilities offered by working collaboratively together, come join us for a drink and take part in this open conversation. Young people are very welcome! Speakers include Professor Neil Cummings, Zoe Macuzzi, Jacob Whittingham and Kieran Yates.

Professor Neil Cummings is an artist and lecturer at Chelsea College whose practice explores explores ways of working collectively through self-organisation.

Zoe Marcuzzi decided not to go down the university route, instead volunteering once a week at Reprezent Radio. Now, at 22, she's Head of Production at Reprezent and has worked with Capital Xtra, Radio X, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.

Jacob Whittingham is Director of the award-winning Leadership programme at SE1 United, a peer-led youth group based in the South Bank Centre and ICA Learning partners.

Kieran Yates is a freelance writer on music and politics for NME, The Metro and Dazed and Confused. She is the co-author of Generation Vexed.
