It has been a whirlwind few months for this impressive new talent from Illinois following a triumphant 10 shows in 3 days at the showcase festival SXSW in March. iTunes-released singles and canny live performances have seen her championed by a very broad spectrum of cultural pundits and all in good time for the release of debut album Catching A Tiger which features Jacquire King (Kings of Leon) and songs with Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses). Recorded in Nashville late last year Catching A Tiger crackles with the influence of the blues and features a vocal range that puts most rock singers to shame. Lissie has even proved her metal with a cover version of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters. Now, having decamped for the foreseeable future to the UK, things can only get better.
