The Liar Shepherd

18 Nov 2006

Once upon a time, an orphaned brother and sister are hired by a mean farmer and his kindly wife to look after the village’s sheep. The villagers wanted a real shepherd, but soon trust the hard-working children. But one day when the boy looks after an old donkey instead of leaving it to die, it seems that perhaps all is not as well as it seemed.

With a storybook feel from Aesop's fables and stunning locations in rural Iran, the film shows how sometimes adults have a lot to learn from children about the meaning of compassion.
