Servais Mont (Fabio Testi), a photographer, falls in love with struggling actress Nadine Chevalier (Romy Schneider), who, due to her fading career, is forced to act in erotic films. In order to help his beloved Nadine, Servais is ready to cross the boundaries of decency and sponsor a spectacle using money that he borrowed from loan sharks, so as to cast Nadine in one of the leading roles. The actress now faces a difficult choice: fall for a charming photographer or stay loyal to her husband Jacques (Jacques Dutronc).
