Jin-Roh + Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society

15 Aug 2007

This special double-bill offers a rare chance to see the dynamic hand-drawn action-drama Jin-Roh on the big screen. A decade after World War II, an anti-terrorism officer finds himself drawn into a three-way battle between police, secret police and terrorists when he meets the sister of a suicide bomber. A hard, dark tale told in a realist style, full of double- and triple-crosses and real emotional depth. Followed by a preview screening of the new film in the Ghost in the Shell series. The elite operatives of the counter-terrorist organisation Section 9 investigate a rash of mysterious suicides and child abductions, all linked to the emergence of a sinister hacker known only as The Puppeteer. We hope to welcome Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (founder of Production I.G and producer of Ghost in the Shell and Jin-Roh) and Kaoru Mfaume (Manga MD and executive producer of Solid State Society) to introduce both screenings.
