ICA Learning Associates SE1 United continue their exploration into creative identities through the medium of sound by hosting a relaxed and supportive evening of ‘work in progress’. The aim is to offer a platform to support and inspire young people under 25 years to keep creating against the odds – to keep innovating, sharing and networking. Join a talk with music production specialists, DJs and talent managers exploring ways to create, share and promote your work. Relax and enjoy DJ sets from A.G the DJ, Throwing Shade and Barely Legal, and catch a live performance from headliners House of Pharaohs.

A.G the DJ

A.G the DJ is a super-talented 23-year-old East Londoner who got into grime aged eight, after watching her cousin and others in her area spitting lyrics. A.G has worked with Rinse FM, BBC Asian Network, and 1Xtra and now has her own M’n’M show on NTS.
Sam Richard Chapman

Sounds Critical visuals created by Sam Richard Chapman, a London-based artist working in installation and the visual arts and studying at Central Saint Martins, where he is exploring the boundaries of digital medias in correlation with the physical.
Gaius Mavila

Aged just 20, Gaius Mavila is both Manager and member of London collective House of Pharaohs, as well as the Managing Director of entertainment and brand consultancy for Click, whose clients include Adidas and Redbull.
Idris Myowa

Idris Myowa is the co-founder of Proptar, a youth-led social enterprise and talent management company that provides a platform for gifted young artists. In addition to managing music talent, Proptar host and run events aimed elevating individuals and providing them with opportunities to excel in a variety of vocational areas, offering both personal and professional development.
Mykaell Riley

Mykaell Riley is Head of Music Production at University of Westminster and founder of the Black Music Research Unit, which explores and promotes contributions made by ‘black music’ performers, songwriters, musicians and industry personnel. As a former member of renowned reggae band Steel Pulse, Riley has since worked on production for bands such as East 17, Bjork, Wet Wet Wet, Soul II Soul, Maxi Priest, Gabrielle, and many others.
House of Pharaohs

House of Pharaohs is a South London collective of young, talented individuals with a vision to bring a new era to the creative arts and the intention to create without boundaries, spreading a vibrant consciousness through their eclectic style, beats, and energetic onstage performances.
Throwing Shade

Throwing Shade is a London-based producer, DJ and NTS Radio presenter, who aims to play listeners tunes they won’t have heard of before, defying genres and bringing a unique ethnomusicological perspective.
Barely Legal

23 year old DJ Barely Legal is known for her fusion of grime, jungle, drum & bass, hip hop, scooping up recognition from major underground players and platforms including BBC Radio 1Xtra, Hyperdub artist, Scratcha DVA and Wiley.

Due to unforseen circumstances Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura is no longer able to attend.

As well as established industry creatives and professionals giving practical support and advice, NTS Radio DJs are curating a selection of original music submitted to us during an open call ahead of the event. The open call is now closed, but maybe you or your friends submitted music - come down and hear it live!
