How Real Can It Get? Animated Documentary: Life, Politics, Audiences

10 Nov 2008

Waltz with Bashir, Ari Folman's 2008 film about the Lebanon war in 1982, is one example of the recent success of animated documentaries. To coincide with its preview at the UKJFF, we have invited David Polonsky (art director and illustrator of Waltz with Bashir) and Elizabeth Wood (director of DocHouse) to discuss this documentary mode, its use for conveying political and personal narratives and its advantages in engaging audiences. The conversation will be chaired by filmmaker and producer Orly Yadin (managing director of Footage Farm).
