Frieze ICA Bar in association with K11 Art Foundation: Exhibition Preview ICA and K11 Art Foundation present Zhang Ding: Enter the Dragon

12 Oct 2015

An exhibition preview of Zhang Ding’s Enter the Dragon, presented in collaboration with K11 Art Foundation. For the duration of the exhibition there will be a series of daily performances in the ICA Theatre where emerging bands and musicians will engage in a live “play off” as they take to the two stages at the same time.

The evening includes DJ sets by Bell Towers, Pandora's Jukebox and Trevor Jackson, who kick off the week with a trippy disco knees-up.

Party planner, producer and DJ, Bell Towers channels the Balearic philosophy for the new millennium. His early sets as Roman Wafers showcased an audacious taste, bridging italo-disco, new wave, house, tech and even J-pop. Having relocated from Melbourne to London, he’s clocked releases as Bell Towers on Ruf Dug’s Rüf Kutz and Canyons’ Hole In The Sky, as well as Public Possession. His productions cater to both the dance floor and the poolside; a slew of blissed-out rollers, delicately balancing rhythmic and melodic sensibilities

Art director by day at LN-CC, Yasmina Dexter trades mood boards for decks as Pandora's Jukebox, a club DJ, sound producer to short films and runway soundtracks for the past 15 years. Her eclectic sonic assemblages - which offer noir-ish hypnotic dreamscape with multi-textured take on electronic music.

One of three founders of London's Club Milagro, who hosted the likes of Arca and Clara 3000, also holds residency at Cicciolina Paris and industrial, post punk, electronic body music Club Cosey.

Trevor Jackson has been working at the intersections of audio and visual culture for over 20 years. He’s a true polymath, his work spanning art direction, design, video, and music production. His enduring commitment to innovation and fondness for club culture have been recognised, as evident in joint projects and collaborative efforts with artists such as Kraftwerk, LCD Soundsystem, Dinos Chapman, Soulwax, Four Tet and Massive Attack.

The ICA partners with Frieze Art Fair and K11 Art Foundation to host London’s first official Frieze ICA Bar. Taking place over a five-day period, special guests host an evening of music and DJs in collaboration with NTS Radio. The bar is open 7.30pm - 1am every day.

During the Frieze ICA Bar programme, entry to the ICA will be free after 6pm. From 11am – 6pm the standard £1 Day Membership will be charged.
