"This film depicts the Sex Pistols as it really was, not how you wanted it to be." John Lydon
A Q&A with Julien Temple, hosted by artist and writer Caroline Coon, follows the screening.
Directed by Julien Temple, The Filth And The Fury is the brutal and irreverent complete story of arguably the most influential and certainly the most notorious rock group of all time. It profiles the Sex Pistol’s struggling early days, through to their fame and disintegration and the furore surrounding Sid Vicious’ alleged murder of girlfriend Nancy Spungeon.
Presented by Doc´n Roll Film Festival as part of Sounds of London, a twelve-week, fourteen film cinematic celebration of the capital’s rich and rebellious musical heritage.
Part of Britain on Film, this event is supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London and proud to be a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network funded by the National Lottery.
The Filth and the Fury, dir. Julien Temple, UK 2000, 108 mins.
