In conversation with ICA Executive Director Gregor Muir, New York-based art advisor Lisa Schiff discusses her latest exhibition project Open Source: Art at the Eclipse of Capitalism. This upcoming show takes its cue from what theorist Jeremy Rifkin calls a ‘third industrial revolution’ and how this might reflect on contemporary artistic culture. In relation to this theory, Schiff discusses the work of included artists Ian Cheng, Daniel Keller, Josh Kline, Katja Novitskova, Avery Singer, Pamela Rosenkranz and Meg Webster. Through an exploration of their work, the pair discuss the potential of hyper-connectivity, robotics and advancements in mechanical reproduction to nudge our current socio-economic existence into new forms of collaborative communities.

She is holds an MA in Art History from the University of Miami, Florida, and a BA in Art History and French from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
