Batmacumba: Brazilian Drum'n'Bass Special

Tonight will be an extra packed session of music and short films from Brazil. Brazilian duo Human Factor are launching their new Brazilian drum'n'bass label, Sunrize Recordings, and DJing in the bar with our resident Batmacumba boy DJ Cliffy. LTJ Bukem reckons "these boys have got the Cosmic Funk" and their first single, featuring Tita Lima and championed by Gilles Peterson, is out this week. In the cinema Batmacumba hosts a selection of short films from the Discovering Latin America Film Festival currently taking place across London. The programme includes Brazil's Saindo de Casa (Leaving the House), O Jumento Santo (The Holy Ass) and Cuban film El Año del Cerdo (Year of the Pig).
