BAFTA Masterclass: Costume Design with Julian Day

22 Oct 2014

Julian graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Theatre Studies; however he soon established an interest in costume design whilst working for a year at Angels the Costumiers.

Julian started designing for feature films at the turn of the century, teaming up with Pawel Pawlikowski in My Summer of Love and Last Resort. His eclectic and unusual style has brought him to work on a diverse range of productions, such as Rush, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Berberian Sound Studio and Nowhere Boy.

Day’s forthcoming projects include Heart of the Sea, his second collaboration with Ron Howard, and the much anticipated Pride & Prejudice & Zombies.

BAFTA Masterclass Labs are monthly events where innovative talents from the film and television industries share their creative practices with the audience. Sessions are illustrated with clips or other media, and with much time for questions. These masterclass labs give the audience an opportunity to exchange ideas with some of the industries’ exceptional newer talents.

The ICA Cinema is now completely ad-free. Please note the feature will start following a selection of trailers and information relevant to the ICA programme. All films are 18+ unless otherwise stated.
