Ark Animalium

Ark Animalium is a darkly humorous, live-art performance that re-creates an elegiac world filled with mysterious creatures, a biblically-shaped crate and just a few too many Bill Withers tracks - used as alternatives to origin of the species. The project began its life during a graduate puppetry residency through CSSD and Puppet Centre Trust in 2009 and presents new approaches to contemporary performance, puppetry and objects. This showing is the result of a month-long collaboration between Ivan Thorley and Gareth Martin at Laban.
