Another Country with Rupert Everett + Q&A

12 Dec 2014

2014 marks 30 years since Another Country burst on to the world scene. Starring Rupert Everett and Colin Firth and directed by Marek Kanievska, the film influenced a whole generation of young British actors and Rupert and Colin both went on to become world stars.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the ICA are holding a very special screening of Another Country. After the screening, there will be a live audience Q&A with Rupert Everett.

In the BAFTA nominated film adaptation of the Julian Mitchell play Another Country, Rupert Everett stars as Guy Bennett, a pupil at an elite British boarding school in the 1930’s where conformity is the norm. During his school days Bennett (Everett) finds comfort in friendship with classmate and fellow outcast Tommy Judd (Colin Firth).
Another Country explores the effect of public school life on openly gay Bennett as he deals with homophobia and bullying, while Judd struggles to reconcile the expectations of the establishment with his own Marxist beliefs.
