Flee the Scene assembles four of London’s top Black, queer DJ collectives for a club night in the ICA Theatre hosted by WOC collective Goldsnap; exhibition and tun up BBZ; lesbian club night Magic Clit; and queer club and performance night The Batty Mama.
Creating space at Fugitive Feminism to centre Black feminist pleasure alongside Black feminist struggle, these collectives spin their notorious R&B, hip-hop, garage, house, afrobeats, future beats and bashment sets. Projected images from each respective club night create an immersive environment. At a time when few nightlife spaces in London offer accessible, safe and enjoyable parties for black and queer people, the DJs featured at Flee the Scene bring vibes celebrating QTIPOC, nonbinary people and femmes of all genders.
