American short story writer Raymond Carver (1938 – 1988) is best known in cinema for the 1993 Robert Altman film Short Cuts, but with hundreds of short stories from across many published collections, LSFF is screening a programme of Carver short film adaptations. These three short films highlight the short story form adapted to the cinema, and are followed by a panel discussion featuring director Chris Rodley and Penguin Publishing, hosted by Jo Duncombe.
Whoever Was Using This Bed? stars Jean-Marc Barr, Radha Mitchell and Jane Birkin, and Tropical Fish (screening from 35mm) is the 1994 directorial debut of Chris Rodley, best known for a number of TV arts, music and cinema documentaries over the last 20 years.
Programme
The programme runs for 90 minutes including panel discussion.
