In this bittersweet comic drama from South Korean master Sang-soo Hong (HaHaHa, In Another Country), a troubled young woman spirals into a depression when her mother departs for Canada. She falls back on an old love affair with a married professor.
Shot in Hong's characteristic long, languorous takes, and with a script punctuated by his deadpan wit and keen observation of human relationships, Nobody's Daughter Haewon is a typically joyous affair from Korea's answer to Woody Allen.
