Orlando Seale

Orlando Seale and The Swell & Eusebius Ensemble

26 Feb 2011

Watch Orlando Seale and The Swell swing from from melancholy to Highbury, from intimate to Epping Forest. Influenced by Piaf, Bowie, Pulp, The Cure, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith and Messiaen, Orlando Seale and The Swell perform live along with their friends Eusebius Ensemble.

The Eusebius Ensemble takes its name from the great composer Robert Schumann, who's multiple personaltities were named Florestan and Eusebius; Florestan the more flamboyant and Eusebius, poetic. To embody this eccentricity, the ensemble performs in a variety of contexts and different genres, always trying to push the boundaries of a modern classical music ensemble. Sometimes performing with up to 16 members, the Ensemble features beautiful woodwinds, lush strings, and bold brass. The ICA performance includes a set of instrumental Radiohead arrangements from Kid A with piano accompaniment and the stormy drama of excerpts from a Haydn Symphony.
