A film about life in the UK for unaccompanied child asylum seekers, using non-actors from the refugee community and with powerful performances from the young leads. Two teenage girls seeking refuge in the UK meet in Birmingham and become 'family', although Mamie is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Shiku is Kenyan. When the authorities realise the girls are not genuine sisters, they are separated and a new ordeal begins for each of them.
