Genetic Visions: Science Fiction Cinema and the Racialised Bodies of Cloning Films

6 Jan 2007

The cultures of the new genetics have produced a re-imagining of the body - of reproduction, sexuality and the boundaries around the human. Situating recent representations within a history of sci-fi cinema, Jackie Stacey examines the fears and desires surrounding cinema's reordering of sexualised and racialised differences through new forms of embodiment.

Jackie Stacey is Professor of Cultural Studies at Lancaster University and co-editor of Screen.
