Having served as a workshop for over 40 years where work by the likes of Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono and Andy Warhol has been prepared for exhibitions, this behind-the-scenes room has now been transformed into the ICA Studio and opened up for ICA Members.

Unselfconscious and experimental, the ICA Studio is a great space to read, meet with friends or colleagues or grab a drink from the ICA Café and relax before an ICA event. You can also bring your laptop to work here and make the most of the free Wifi.

Artworks are delivered here, studio paintings and ICA Editions adorn the walls and art books and magazines line the shelves. Video, audio and printed materials from the ICA Archive tracing the colourful history of the ICA fill plan chests and archive drawers. It is a room to explore and enjoy.

The ICA Studio project has been led by 6a architects as part of their ICA architectural residency. 6a architects have developed a particular reputation for contemporary arts projects, such as South London Gallery and Raven Row, and they recently reconfigured the ICA Bookshop & Foyer.

Join us in the ICA Studio by treating yourself or a friend to an ICA Membership.

Opening hours

The ICA Studio is open to ICA Members from Wednesday to Friday, from 12 noon until 6pm, from 9 June 2011.

Access

Present your ICA Membership card at Box Office and you will be given a swipe card to access the ICA Studio.
