Join us on Tuesday 18 June from 6pm until 9pm for the opening of Keep Your Timber Limber (Works on Paper). Curated by Sarah McCrory, the exhibition explores how artists since the 1940s to the present day have used drawing to address ideas critical and current to their time, ranging from the politics of gender and sexuality, to feminist issues, war and censorship.
The exhibition brings together the work of eight artists: Judith Bernstein, Tom of Finland, George Grosz, Margaret Harrison, Mike Kuchar, Cary Kwok, Antonio Lopez and Marlene McCarty.
Also opening in the Fox Reading Room is The Grantchester Pottery: Artist Decorators. The Grantchester Pottery are transforming the space with a presentation of works made collectively, including hand-made wallpaper, a woven pottery blanket, murals and screens, alongside functional ceramic items including lamps, vases, paperweights, pots and cups.
We hope to see you there.
