Tributes for the late great David Bowie (1947-2016) have been pouring in from across the globe, but long-time ICA Member and photographer Allan Titmuss has unearthed some truly special Bowiebilia with this selection of never-before seen photographs from an ICA fundraiser in the 1980s. Here's Allan in his own words:

For a while from the early 1980s onwards I did most of the music photography for The Guardian and The Observer, and covered much of  what happened at the ICA including the 1988 ICA fundraising series Intruders At The Palace which included David Byrne of Talking Heads at the Cambridge Theatre on 2 July and a show by David Bowie at The Dominion Theatre on 1 July, featuring Louise Lecavalier of the Canadian dance company La La La Human Steps. These photographs were taken at the 17.30 dress rehearsal of the Bowie show by the way, so I was probably the only audience there.

Eat your hearts out, Bowie fans.

Check out Allan's incredible photographs below, along with a video documenting the event. All photographs ©2016 Allan Titmuss.

Join us in remembering the legacy of David Bowie on 21 January when we screen D. A. Pennebaker's documentary Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars featuring the immortal 1973 Hammersmith Odeon concert.

Many thanks to Allan Titmuss for sharing these incredible images.
